Today the DMN endorsed Chris Bell in the Democratic Primary. My favorite excerpts from the article (which is after the jump) are:
The 67-year-old attorney also proclaims Republicans incompetent and corrupt. In a state that's decidedly red, it's hard to see how Democrats will benefit from a standard-bearer who crankily dismisses many of the voters and their leanings.
Mr. Bell's pragmatic tone on issues like school funding would position Democrats in the center. He not only wants a broad-based business tax, he sees no reason to waste time debating an income tax. He also has specific areas in which he'd cut the budget, including the highway department.
Those were good, however this one takes the cake:
...And Mr. Gammage has been out of the legislative game for more than 25 years. To have any hope in a three- or four-way race, Democrats need a modern
leader.
