Appellate Court Judge John Roberts is a Washington insider, nominated for positions by both Bush administrations that were stalled in the Senate. He has two years of judicial experience and that, of course, made his credentials jump off the page for the current President. We don’t need another Clarence Thomas on the bench. And we certainly can do better than anointing Judge Rehnquist’s former law clerk with a Supreme Court appointment for life.

Let’s tell our Senators that we oppose the confirmation of Judge John Roberts on basic principles of the Democratic Party. Remember that Mr. Roberts was instrumental in the debacle in Florida in 2000,and he also worked with special investigator Kenneth Starr against President Clinton. He is very conservative and no friend to us. No matter how affable he may seem, he is very conservative.
